Prada was awarded the Creativity prize at the Fashion Awards 2020, hosted by the British Fashion Council, in an online version of the event held on 3 December. The prize is awarded every year to people and brands in the fashion industry whose product design, advertising campaigns and collaborations have stood out for their innovative approach and global impact. The initiatives that led to Prada receiving the award included the Prada Linea Rossa Fall/Winter 2020 campaign, with its exceptionally diverse cast, the projects the business launched to support Italy during the pandemic and the “Tools of Memory” campaign, in partnership with Sotheby’s, with profits going to support UNESCO’s education projects. Prada was also chosen for the way it showcased the power of creativity and the importance of communication in the first catwalk show produced by co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons in September. The two designers collected the award virtually, and said their thanks in a pre-recorded video speech.
