The third edition of “Shaping a Sustainable Future”organized by Prada took place at the Prada US headquarters (New York) on November 8, 2019. This year’s theme – “Shaping a Sustainable Future Society”- started with the keynote speech of architect Sir David Adjaye OBE and was followed by a roundtable – moderated by Professor and journalist Gianni Riotta – with Amale Andraos (Dean of the Columbia Graduate School of Architectur), Richard Armstrong (Director of Guggenheim Museum and Foundation), Mariarosa Cutillo (Chief of Strategic Partnerships –UNFPA), Amanda Gorman (poet and activist), Kent Larson (City Science Director at MIT) and Livia Pomodoro (President of Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera). After this roundtable, the inspirational speech of the talented Paralympic champion Simone Barlaam, was followed by the survey of the Yale Center for Customer Insights, in partnership with the Prada Group, presented by Professor Ravi Dhar. The final discussion was a dialogue between Kate Crawford (research professor at NY University) and Professor Raffaella Cagliano (Politecnico di Milano School of Management), which captured the ethical and social importance of developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The event concluded with the remarks about overcoming prejudice by foreign policy analyst Rula Jebreal.
