The themes covered in the Training Humans exhibition were at the centre of a meeting held on 26 October at Fondazione Prada Osservatorio, the exhibition venue.
Speaking at the symposium were professors Stephanie Dick (University of Pennsylvania), Eden Medina (MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and Jacob Gaboury (UC Berkeley – University of California) and the curators of the exhibition Kate Crawford and Trevor Paglen. Each speaker analysed the concepts explored in the exhibition in relation to their ground-breaking research, based on two key questions: where are the boundaries between science, history, politics, prejudice and ideology in artificial intelligence? And who has the power to build and benefit from these systems?
