“Role Play” is the new exhibition on view from 19 February at Osservatorio Fondazione Prada in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan. Curated by Melissa Harris, the project explores the processes of research and creation of possible alternative identities through a selection of photographs, videos and performances by 11 international artists. Who am I? Who would I like to be? How do others see me? Art projects engaging role play have always contemplated identity, liberating artists to gender-bend and time-travel and envision their selves in myriad ways, reflecting on their very self—even when that is in flux. Conceived as a blue light installation designed by Random Studio, ‘Role Play’ is an invitation to immerse oneself in transformative light and join the artists in their explorations of being, reimagined.
