Two major Prada openings in Paris, at the Department Stores Galeries Lafayette and La Samaritaine – both symbols of the French capital’s luxury shopping – the latter reopened in June after a major 15-year renovation.
La Samaritaine: Prada unveiled three spaces dedicated to its women’s collections within the prestigious department store La Samaritaine, which opened in June following extensive renovation work. A roughly 90 m2 area on the ground floor is devoted to leather goods and accessories, a 60 m2 space on the second floor showcases the brand’s ready-to-wear, and in an approximately 20 m2 section on the fourth floor is dedicated to footwear.
Galeries Lafayette: The second-storey shop has around 85 m2 of floor space and is divided into two sections, one dedicated to women’s ready-to-wear and the men’s and women’s leather goods and accessories collections, and the other containing men’s and women’s footwear. The interiors of the new stores feature the same style and trademark furnishings seen in Prada shops around the world, including panelled walls covered in green canvas, a black-and-white chequered floor and Osvaldo Borsani velvet chairs, green for the women’s area and grey for the men’s section.
