On 7 July, the PRADA Cup – the trophy received by the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team after winning the Challenger selection races at the 36th America’s Cup presented by PRADA – was officially admitted into the headquarters of Circolo della Vela Sicilia in Mondello, Sicily, the yacht club with which the Luna Rossa team launched its bid for glory at the competition as Challenger of Record. At an event attended by numerous club members, Max Sirena (skipper and team director), Francesco Bruni (helmsman) and Francesco Longanesi Cattani (the CEO’s representative in Auckland and title sponsor liaison) went back through the key moments of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli’s latest challenge, answering questions posed by journalist Fabio Colivicchi. At the end of the event, the president of Circolo della Vela Sicilia, Agostino Randazzo, who accompanied the team to Auckland, announced that both Max Sirena and AC75 Luna Rossa’s two helmsmen, Francesco Bruni and Jimmy Spithill, had all been made honorary members of the club. Spithill relayed his thanks in a video message.
