The exhibition Damien Hirst Archaeology Now, supported by Prada, opened recently at the Galleria Borghese Museum in Rome. Over 80 of Hirst’s works are displayed in the museum’s galleries alongside masterpieces by Caravaggio, Bernini, Titian and Raphael, including pieces from the Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable series, his Colour Space paintings – appearing in Italy for the first time – and the sculpture Hydra and Kali, which is presented in the Giardino Segreto dell’Uccelliera. The exhibition’s opening on 7 June was attended by Italian minister of culture Dario Franceschini and guests from the worlds of culture, art, fashion and cinema, including Jordan Anderson, Matilda De Angelis, Isabella Ferrari, Hou Hanru, Gabriele Mainetti, Tamu McPherson, Aya Mohamed, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Paola & Pamela Ameyibor, Alessandro Roja, Alba Rohrwacher, Riccardo Scamarcio, Salvatore Settis, Aimee Song and Niki Wu Jie.
