On its 60th anniversary, the CUOA Business School Foundation awarded the Prada Group’s CEO, Patrizio Bertelli, an honorary Master of Business Administration (MBA) “for the exemplary nature of his entrepreneurial career, a symbol of Italy throughout the world”.
The ceremony took place on 20 November in the CUOA’s eighteenth-century Villa Valmarana Morosini in Altavilla Vicentina in northern Italy, and was attended by leading businessmen and representatives of the General Confederation of Italian Industry for the Veneto region.
In his acceptance speech, Patrizio Bertelli underlined how “… technology should always go hand-in-hand with culture, and we should be very proud of being Italian: our cultural background has been handed down to us from our history, and this knowledge has given us a sixth sense. We should make the most of culture and never sink to sterile pragmatism, because without culture one doesn’t get anywhere”.
It is worth noting that the CUOA’s honorary MBA has previously been awarded to president of the European Central Bank Mario Draghi and Sergio Marchionne, the CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA).
