Miu Miu is pleased to introduce its Literary Club, “Writing Life,” focusing on the works of Sibilla Aleramo and Alba De Céspedes. The event took place on April 17th and 18th at the Circolo Filologico in Milan from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, evoking the ambiance of European literary salons and celebrating the power of women through the written word. With a focus on Aleramo’s “ A Woman ” and De Céspedes’ “ Forbidden Notebook,” the club fostered discussions on history and education, central themes for both Miu Miu and contemporary women. Featuring roundtable discussions and performances, the club hosted authors such as Jhumpa Lahiri, Claudia Durastanti, Sheila Heti, Viola Di Grado, Selby Wynn Schwartz, and Xiaolu Guo, with moderation by Lou Stoppard and Zin Tsjeng. The program included poetry readings and musical performances. Miu Miu Literary Club is the latest in a series of cultural experiences, devised and supported by Miu Miu, to promote the arts. These include Women’s Tales, an initiative designed to facilitate female film directors, now in its 27th iteration, and collaborations with multi-disciplinary artists for collections and fashion show presentations. Both “A Woman” and “Forbidden Notebook” will be available for the occasion, wrapped in special Miu Miu packaging.
