Miu Miu has announced a collaborative project with artists Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg, who designed the jewellery for the Fall/Winter 2022 collection. The partnership offers tangible evidence of Miu Miu’s commitment to making a contribution to the art world. The jewellery is tactile and apparently innocent, but always with a hint of mischief, depicting multicoloured birds stealing pills from a table through tiny, brightly coloured animals, expressing – in the artists’ words – ‘the wish to escape with grace and humour’. Djurberg and Berg called the collection “Miu Miu: A Remedy”. ‘We wanted the title to be comforting, but exciting and slightly mystical at the same time’, they note. Both the animal figurines and pills are made from hand-finished resin pieces and hand-polished galvanised metal with a nickel-free golden finish. In addition to creating the jewellery, Djurberg and Berg were also responsible for the artistic direction of the campaign accompanying the launch. Julien Martinez Leclerc’s shots depict actor Isadora Bjarkardóttir Barney, who joins a large group of emerging and interdisciplinary Miu Miu muses with two things in common: their diversity and their fiercely individual attitude.
