DressUndressed is the new exhibition hosted at the Mode Museum in Hasselt, Belgium, which looks into the relationship between the (un)dressed body and fashion, exploring the ever-changing social and cultural norms and ideas about gender, physicality, beauty, sexuality, morality, modesty and decency. It showcases garments and accessories in which nudity or partial nudity is meaningful: from the transparent chemise dresses at the end of the eighteenth century to the revolution of the bare ankle in the twenties and the emancipatory nude during the sixties, to the evocative nudity of the looks in which the supermodels of the 1990s rule the catwalks and contemporary fashion, which explores the physical and cultural aspects of the body and the boundaries between private and public. Prada and Miu Miu are both represented with two looks, from the Fall/Winter 2015 collection and Spring/Summer 2022 collection respectively.
