A landscape inspired by the colours and atmospheres of striking distant lands expresses Prada’s key visual traits in a contemporary, ‘pop’ language. This is the concept of the Prada Tropico pop-up, already landed in Paris (Galeries Lafayette), Dubai (Dubai Mall Catwalk), London (Harrods) and New York (Bergdorf Goodman). The space is defined by light, resonating with special energy: backlit surfaces and a sequence of bright, alternating stripes in contrasting colours. The large, ivory-white and green striped columns that mark the pop-up store give way to an explosion of stylized tropical forest, with hundreds of Prada hats of various colours, models and materials growing like leaves and flowers on green metal trunks and branches. The floors echo the pattern on the walls, while a Prada logo dominates the scene. Coloured stripes also feature in the garments, bags and accessories in the store’s special collection. At Harrods London, one of its pop-ups is juxtaposed by an elegant in style tea room chalet, where customers can rest while shopping, savoring the Marchesi 1824 pastries, teas, coffees and other sweet specialties.
