The tenth edition of the “Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy”, – a cycle of workshops dedicated to talented emerging musicians, selected at an international level, in which five young répétiteurs and five young master conductors took part – was hosted from 4 to 15 December at the Fondazione Prada in Milan, and it ends with two concerts dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi’s Nabucco conducted by Maestro Riccardo Muti on 14 December and by the young master conductors who alternated on the podium on 15 December. Numerous personalities from the world of art, music, culture and institutions attended both the rehearsals, which were open to the public, and the two concerts – which were sold out – including the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini and the Minister of Education Patrizio Bianchi, the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala, the President of the SDA Bocconi University Mario Monti, the Étoile of Teatro alla Scala Roberto Bolle, the artist Francesco Vezzoli, the theatre director André Ruth Shammah, the President of the Triennale Stefano Boeri, welcomed by Patrizio Bertelli and Miuccia Prada, who said: “Thanks to this collaboration with Riccardo Muti and his Academy, for eleven days the Fondazione has become a place of musical research and cultural deepening not only for the ten young talents who have worked in close contact with the Maestro, but for hundreds of enthusiasts and students who, by taking part in the rehearsals, have been able to grasp the importance and richness of his teachings.”
