Prada is launching a new, approximately 30 m2 space in Harrods in London featuring an exclusive selection of homeware products and sophisticated accessories. The boutique comprises a series of wooden elements combined with pale coloured surfaces, while the wood and metal portal on the facade encourages visitors to stop and experience the welcoming, intimate and refined atmosphere within. The chequered floor, presented here in a new inlaid Italian walnut version, is echoed in the fabric-clad walls in Prada’s unmistakeable light green. The collection stands out against this backdrop, displayed on wooden panelling designed to resemble an unbroken bookshelf. The items on display include ultra-fine porcelain with original Prada decoration, a new edition of a beautiful hammered silver cutlery set designed in 1905 by Josef Hoffmann for the Wiener Werkstätte, professional Prada dressmaking scissors with 18-carat gold-plated handles, original creations by designer Martino Gamper – understated vases, chopping boards and trays made of precious woods and inlaid with coloured Formica – and much more besides… A new Prada world just waiting to be discovered.
