The warm-up races for the 36th America’s Cup presented by PRADA – the PRADA America’s Cup World Series Auckland and the PRADA Christmas Race – will get underway in Auckland (NZ) on 17 December. The four days of competition aboard the new AC75 foiling monohulls will see the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team take on the cup’s current holder, Emirates Team New Zealand, and the other two challengers, American Magic from the USA and the British Ineos Team UK. The first three days of the PRADA ACWS Auckland (17-19 December) will feature twelve races to introduce the teams to the regatta course, divided into two round robins, in which each team will compete with each of the other three. The fourth day (20 December), meanwhile, will host the PRADA Christmas Race, in a knockout format. The results of both events will determine the pairings for the PRADA Cup Challenger Selection Series, scheduled for January/February 2021, which will decide which Challenger will take on Emirates Team New Zealand in the Final Match of the 36th America’s Cup presented by PRADA, which begins on 6 March 2021. From 17 December, from the start of the PRADA America’s Cup World Series and PRADA Christmas Race, up to the final challenge in March 2021, it will be possible to follow all the matches on TV. In Italy, Rai Due and Sky Sport will broadcast all the races live every night, scheduled to start at 3pm in New Zealand. Real-time updates from the race course and technical insights will be available on the team’s social platforms and on the website www.lunarossachallenge.com.
