The continuing Coronavirus public health emergency and the containment measures adopted by the various countries involved mean that the America’s Cup World Series Sardegna – Cagliari (23-25 April) and Portsmouth (UK, 4-7 June), the preliminary regattas for the 36th America’s Cup, clearly cannot go ahead. The competition programme will restart in Auckland (New Zealand) on 17-20 December, with the final race in the America’s Cup World Series and the Christmas Race, followed by the PRADA Cup, a set of qualifying races for the various Challengers, from 15 January to 22 February 2021 and the final match of the 36th America’s Cup presented by PRADA, which will take place on 6-21 March 2021. Following this change in programme, the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team will continue training and fine-tuning the boat at its base in Cagliari, where it will remain until it departs for Auckland, scheduled for the end of September.
