Prada and Miu Miu feature in the exhibition Retail Apocalypse – curated by Fredi Fischli and Niels Olsen in collaboration with the Harvard University Graduate School of Design – with the designs for Prada’s Epicenter store in Tokyo and the Miu Miu Aoyama shop, both created by the Herzog & de Meuron architecture studio. The exhibition, to be held at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic (ETH) in Zurich, investigates the history of retail architecture from the 1970s to the present day, exploring how architectural language has helped to add to the shopping experience, both from a commercial and communication perspective by transmitting the brand’s image and strengthening its identity, and in some cases, including Prada and Miu Miu, in cultural terms too.
ETH Zurich, Rämistrasse 101, 8092 Zurich.
From 26 February to 15 May 2020.
