The Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team was presented at the Circolo delle Vela Sicilia in Mondello. The team is the Challenger of record for the 36th America’s Cup, which will take place in Auckland New Zealand in 2021.
After the opening videos and their welcome speech, Agostino Randazzo – the Circolo della Vela’s President – and Patrizio Bertelli, the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team’s President, greeted on stage Pirelli’s Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President Marco Tronchetti Provera, who co-sponsors the challenge. Representing the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team alongside Max Sirena – Team Director and Skipper – Gilberto Nobili, Francesco Bruni and Vasco Vascotto, who, in turns, presented the team’s programmes and the next stages of the challenge, there were also James Spithill, Pietro Sibello, Francesco Mongelli, Michele Cannoni, Pierluigi De Felice, Ruggero Tita, Davide Cannata, Romano Battisti and Jacopo Plazzi.
At the end of the presentation, Patrizio Bertelli announced the launch of the AC75 Luna Rossa, due to take place in Cagliari at the team’s base, on Sunday August 25th 2019.
