Marchesi 1824 opened its first pastry shop outside Italy at the end of May, located on Mount Street in the prestigious Mayfair district of London. The intimate space of approximately 70 m2, formerly home to the luxury butcher’s Allens of Mayfair, founded in 1880, has been redecorated in a way that fully respects the original features, such as its historic wall decorations and numerous metal hooks on the ceiling, creating the perfect balance between past and present. A cosy room at the rear of the shop is dedicated to drinking tea, with a variety of options for all times of day: breakfast, lunch or an evening drink. The traditional range of Italian confectionery is combined with a wide selection of candies, bonbons, chocolates, pralines and sweets, in a special lunch menu, devised especially for the London patisserie.
