On 29th November, at the Yacht Club de Monaco, the Prada Cup trophy, Challenger Selection Series for the 36th America’s Cup, has been unveiled. In presence of 200 guests from around the world, Patrizio Bertelli, Prada Group’s CEO and Chairman of Luna Rossa Challenge, together with his son Lorenzo, Prada Group’s Head of Digital Communication, unveiled the silver trophy created by world-renowned designer Marc Newson and handcrafted by Florentine silversmiths. The Prada Cup will be held on January and February 2021 in Auckland, New Zealand, and see the Challenger teams – including Luna Rossa Challenge – will race in a round robin format to determine which Challenger will line up against the Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand, in March 2021 in the quest for oldest trophy in sport, the America’s Cup. But, to win the America’s Cup, you first have to win the Prada Cup.
