Friday 31st of August, the 36th America’s Cup, of which Prada is Title and Presenting Sponsor, was presented at Cowes (UK). The event was attended by the Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand, along with the three challengers who have signed up so far: Luna Rossa Challenge (Circolo della Vela Sicilia, Challenger of Record), American Magic (New York Yacht Club) and INEOS Team UK (Royal Yacht Squadron Racing).
The event included the unveiling of the new America’s Cup official logo, designed by the Australian Marc Newson, the America’s Cup racecourses, the hologram of the AC75, the new ‘flying’ monohull that will race in the 36th America’s Cup and the trunk that will hold the America’s Cup, designed and produced by Prada’s Leather Goods Department.
At the Royal Yacht Squadron (the oldest Yacht Club in the world), there were more than 200 guests, as well as leading figures from the sailing world, who all had the chance to participate to the induction of John Marshall, Syd Fischer, Doug Peterson and Ken McAlpine, into the America’s Cup Hall of Fame, sponsored by Prada.
