Torbjørn Rødland: The Touch That Made You is the new exhibition by Fondazione Prada at the Osservatorio in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan.
The exhibition features more than 40 photographic works and three videos, all produced between 1999 and 2016. In his works Torbjørn Rødland’s offers a personal and poetic take on the formal clarity of commercial images and creates visual clashes that trigger in the observer a twofold reaction of repulsion and attraction, intimacy and unfamiliarity towards the subject. Arranged over the venue’s two floors, the photos are placed on wooden structures – smooth and monochrome surfaces on the inside, rough and unrefined on the outside – located below eye level, in order to absorb the observer completely.
