The first Green Carpet Fashion Awards Italia, a project based on sustainable values that brings together leading Italian luxury brands and emerging designers for a gala evening, was held during Milan Fashion Week. The event was organised by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion in collaboration with Eco-Age, a leading company in the sustainability sector founded by Lydia Firth. It described the journey taken by members of the organisation towards a more sustainable fashion system, and concluded on 24 September at La Scala in Milan, where, on a green carpet, international celebrities donned sustainable outfits produced by each brand to the strict criteria of the Green Carpet Challenge, a platform designed to introduce sustainable solutions to the fashion sector. The actress Jasmine Trinca wore Prada’s look, while Miu Miu chose the actress Matilda De Angelis to present its creation.
The evening continued with an award ceremony to reward companies that have made a significant contribution to promoting a more sustainable value chain. Miuccia Prada was there to accept the award given to Prada in recognition of the role it played in drawing up the Guidelines on Ecotoxicological Requirements for Leather Goods, Clothing, Footwear and Accessories.
